Junior Varsity Dance Team
General Information
The Junior Varsity Dance Team is an amazing way to get involved in our school community! There will be 12-15 members on this team and they will be on the sideline of our home Junior Varsity football games, perform at assemblies, basketball halftimes, dance in the homecoming parade, Fall/Spring Showcases, and other school related events. Dancers must have experience in jazz technique, pom and hip hop. Dancers must maintain no F’s or U’s throughout the year, have no discipline problems through the dean’s office, and represent Green Valley High School in a positive way throughout the entire year both in and out of dance. Attendance is mandatory at every class, after school practice, performance, fundraiser, or event. You must also enroll in 7th Period Dance in order to maintain status on the team. If your grade falls below a 70% at semester, you will be removed from the team.

Audition Information
DATE & TIME
Auditions for the 2024-2025 Green Valley High SchooL Dance Team will take place April 22nd, 23rd, and 24th from 3:30pm-5:30pm.
LOCATION
GVHS Dance Room (Located inside the main gym)
ATTIRE
Monday- White shirt, black shorts, jazz shoes/half soles, tennis shoes, sweats (for hip hop), hair up
Tuesday- Black shirt, black shorts, jazz shoes/half soles, tennis shoes, sweats (for hip hop), hair up
Wednesday- Dress to impress! Wear any dance attire and show us your personality! Bring jazz shoes/half soles (NO SOCKS), tennis shoes, sweat pants (for hip hop portion if you would like), hair in high ponytail, full performance make up. On this day, there will be judges there to select the team, so be prepared to make a good impression and show us why we should pick you to be part of GDC!
PREPARATION
Register for auditions at the link provided. Prepare yourself by familiarizing yourself with the required skills listed in the audition packet. Be on time or early to auditions! Plan your outfits in advance and be sure you have all necessary supplies prior to auditions. Be ready to learn and perform jazz choreography, hip hop choreography, technique, and have a positive attitude!

Double Pirouette, good leaps/jumps, calypso, strong pom and hip hop style, ability to pick up choreography quickly.
