GREEN VALLEY HS DANCE TEAM
General Information
The Green Valley High School Dance Team is recognized as one of the premier programs in the state and consistently ranks among the top three teams in the nation. This elite team is comprised of approximately 15–30 dedicated athletes who represent Green Valley High School with excellence, pride, and professionalism.
Members of the team perform at home football games, school assemblies, athletics halftimes, the Homecoming parade, Fall and Spring Showcases, CCSD’s Dance Festival, and much more. In addition, dancers compete at both local and national events and participate in select performances and team travel opportunities throughout the year.
Dancers must possess strong technical training and performance quality in jazz, pom, and hip hop. Selection to this team requires advanced skill, strong work ethic, coachability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
Academic and behavioral standards are strictly upheld. Team members must maintain passing grades in all classes, with no F’s or U’s at any time during the season. Dancers must remain in good standing with the school, free of disciplinary action, and consistently represent Green Valley High School with integrity both on and off campus.
Full commitment is required. Attendance is mandatory at all classes, rehearsals, performances, competitions, fundraisers, and team events. Enrollment in 7th Period Dance is required to maintain team membership. Dancers selected for the competitive team must also enroll in 8th Period Dance. Any dancer whose semester grade falls below 70% will be removed from the team.
