GREEN VALLEY HS DANCE TEAM
General Information
The Green Valley High School Dance Team is one of the top ranked teams in the state and ranked in the top three in the nation. There will be 15-30 members on this team and they will be on the sideline of every home Varsity football game, perform at all assemblies, basketball halftimes, dance in the homecoming parade, Fall/Spring Showcases, CCSD's Dance Festival, and participate in local and out of state competitions and field trips. Dancers must have strong experience in jazz technique, pom and hip hop. Dancers must maintain no F’s or U’s throughout the year, have no discipline problems through the dean’s office, and represent Green Valley High School in a positive way throughout the entire year both in and out of dance. Attendance is mandatory at every class, after school practice, performance, fundraiser, or event. You must also enroll in 7th Period Dance in order to maintain status on the team. You must be enrolled in 8th Period Dance to maintain status on the competitive team. If your grade falls below a 70% at semester, you will be removed from the team.

Auditions for the 2024-2025 Green Valley High SchooL Dance Team will take place April 22nd, 23rd, and 24th from 3:30pm-5:30pm.
ALL DAYS ARE MANDATORY
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
Tuesday- wear all black, bring half soles/jazz shoes for technique, non-marking sneakers for hip hop
Wednesday- wear all black, bring half soles/jazz shoes for technique, non-marking sneakers for hip hop
Thursday- dress to impress (wear something that makes you feel like your best self), bring half soles/jazz shoes for technique, non-marking sneakers for hip hop, full performance make up, hair in slick pony
LOCATION
GVHS Dance Room (Located inside the main gym)
REQUIRED SKILLS
Triple Pirouette, good leaps/jumps, calypso, toe touch, two 8-counts of turns in second, kip up, headspring, handstand, strong pom motions, ability to pick up choreography quickly.
